What is QTVR?

QTVR is a multimedia document which gives the user a virtual three-dimensional photographic view by means of 360º photography cylinders. By dragging the mouse over the image, this turns to the left and right, showing the object or setting photographed, as well as allowing immersion in the picture by means of “zooms”.

Panoramics
Each of these cylinders (known as “Nodes” in the photography process and “Panos" as a final film) consists of 18/36 images taken every 10º/20º and digitally fashioned one by one which are later on “sewn” together in high resolution. The result is a light document for downloading which keeps 100% of its photograph quality.
The sewing provides a high resolution panoramic image covering 360º (extension.jpg), and which one can work on by adding texts, images, logos, and then remake the “panorama” with the changes inserted.

A “ QTVR panorama" means that one can be in a virtual place and look around 360º horizontally with a specific vertical projection depending on the interest (an object or detail outside the horizontal plane, a polychrome roof, an old ceramic floor, etc.).

Objects
If, instead of turning the camera in the photography shots, we turn an object every 10º/20º a “QTVR Object Movie” is obtained. A three-dimensional object can be rotated and seen from all angles, horizontally and vertically. This is an ideal document for showing industrial, artistic products etc...

Scene
All the above creates an individual “QTVR .movie” film. The combination of all these 360º panoramic shots, “object movies” and “images.jpg” in another film is the “Virtual Scene”. In this the user can move from one “pano” to another through “hot zones” or linking points. These “hot zones” cause a change in the mouse and inform you (with a text that has been inserted) where you can go, giving the user the freedom to move around the facilities photographed and view objects.
In this way a “scene” enables the viewer to set off on a quality photographic virtual tour from the outside of premises. A simple “click” on a hot zone enables us to go inside, move around rooms, see objects in three dimensions, go out to the balcony of a room, view the surroundings from different standpoints, i.e., go on a virtual trip around, with the user being the one to interact with the space.
The quality sought after in taking pictures and in the later touching up work is absolutely guaranteed, getting a film of great photographic quality, with no distortions, no black nor burnt zones and taking care of the image continuity.
To view these films you will need the QuickTime plug-in which can be downloaded free of charge at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/.

Supports
These documents can be reproduced on different supports and in different ways.
-As part of a digital interactive product such as industrial catalogues, exhibition catalogue, etc.
-On a Web site. In view of the different download speeds possible, these films can be reproduced in different ways:
 0. By asking to download the film “Pano” from a list of the facilities or products.
 0. By asking to download from a “Jpg” Image.
 0. By asking to download from a browsing map, by means of buttons.
 0. By asking to download the “scene” directly as a full virtual tour.

Applications
There are several different applications of these films:
 0. Interior decorating: For interior designers, restaurants, hotels, premises, etc.
0.Architecture and Restoration. For architects and surveyors, promoters, building restoration and refurbishment companies.
 0. Estate agencies. To show properties on sale with detailed views of interior and location.
 0. Industrial. Interactive catalogues of products, installations, production lines, etc.
 0. Catering. Showing the services rendered, the facilities, different rooms with their views, spa, swimming pools, event rooms, etc. Restaurants,  photographic menus.
 0. Landscaping and Environmental Architecture. Gardening designs, outdoor decoration, panoramic views.
